The classic that pays you back

Solid & Engineered Hardwood

Oak, maple, and walkable walnut, milled wide and installed to last a generation.

Wide-plank oak hardwood flowing through an open kitchen and dining area

Hardwood is the floor most homeowners picture when they imagine an upgrade, and for good reason. A well-fitted oak or maple floor reads as permanent, warms a room, and is the one flooring type an appraiser reliably rewards. We fit both solid plank, which can be sanded and refinished several times over its life, and engineered plank, whose plywood core stays flatter over Knoxville's humid summers and works beautifully over concrete or radiant heat.

The install is where a hardwood floor is won or lost. We let every board acclimate in your home for several days before a single nail goes in, follow the manufacturer's nailing schedule to the letter, and detail the transitions and baseboards so the floor looks built-in rather than dropped on top. Rushing acclimation is the single most common cause of the gaps and cupping you see in a big-box install a year later.

In the showroom you can walk the same species in three widths and four finishes, because the plank width changes the feel of a room as much as the color does. We will talk through species hardness, finish sheen, and whether a wire-brushed texture is worth it for your household before you commit to anything.
