When the carpet came up in this Sequoyah Hills home, it revealed original red oak with real character but also localized rot near an old radiator leak, deep scratches, and decades of gray, sun-faded finish. Full replacement would have erased the history and cost several times more.
We repaired the rotted boards with reclaimed stock matched to the original grain, then ran our dustless containment sanders through the whole floor so the fine grit never reached the family's furniture or lungs. A custom Bona warm amber stain brought the wood back to life under a durable satin finish.
The historic charm is fully restored with a modern, durable surface, and the grain that had been buried under gray finish for ninety years is visible again. The owners kept the story of their house and spent a fraction of a replacement.
